La Quemada is a hilltop ceremonial center dating to the Epiclassic period (600-800 CE) that is located in the Malpaso Valley of Zacatecas, Mexico. Situated on a rhyolitic outcrop, this site is composed of a monumental core and a set of residential terraces concentrated on the western flank. In addition to La Quemada, there is evidence of 220 hamlet and village sites within the Malpaso Valley as well as an extensive road system.

Four petro-fabrics have been identified within the ceramic assemblage excavated by the La Quemada-Malpaso Valley Archaeological Project directed by Ben A. Nelson and Andrea Torvinen. They include the Altered Sand in Fine-Grained Matrix (AS-F) Fabric, Altered Sand in Glassy Matrix (AS-G) Fabric, Volcanic Glass (VG) Fabric, and Rounded Pumice (RP) Fabric.
